For an oh-so-chic result, try these quick and easy instructions to creating a sophisticated white-tipped style.
 | Clean Nails Remove all traces of nail colour and treatments.

 | Shape Nails If nails are very long, trim to even lengths with a scissors or nail clipper.
File edges smooth with a nail file or emery board. Always file nails in one direction, from each side of the nail in toward the center, to help prevent nails from splitting. |
 | Groom Cuticles Soak fingers for 5 minutes in warm water to soften cuticles, then pat dry, leaving cuticles moist.
If cuticles are particularly bad, exfoliate with Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover before soaking.
Gently push back cuticles with a cotton-wrapped cuticle stick or cuticle pusher. Use Sally Hansen Crystal Sticks or Cuticle Trimmer.
Carefully nip away excess cuticles and hangnails. |
 | Prep Nails Apply a nail treatment or base coat to protect nails. This smooths the nail surface and help manicures and pedicures last longer. |
 | Apply Manicure Guides Lift the edge of one guide strip and remove it from the paper backing.
Place the guide across the nail to divide the nail tip from the rest of the nail. Leave about 1/4" overhang on each side.
Hint: Press one extending edge of the guide firmly in place on the finger itself. Then stretch the remainder of the guide across the nail along the curve of the nail to the other side of the finger and press firmly into place.

 | Apply Nail Tip Whitener Shake gently. Apply one coat of Natural White to nail tip above nail guide.
Start at one side, and paint across nail tip to the other side. Ensure you have enough whitener on the brush to do this is one stroke.
You may want to try practicing this as it can be quite tricky to perfect.
Allow to dry thoroughly, then gently lift guide off nail. |
 | Apply Nail Polish Shake nail colour gently.
Brush one coat of colour over entire nail. Allow to dry. If a more opaque look is desired, apply a second coat. |
